Dutch Oven Classes
The first class was a hit!!!! We learned how to season, clean, store, and the History of Dutch Ovens
I think the new thing that I learned is that you can use Camp Chef's Cast Iron Conditioner on your dutch ovens now. For years we thought it was a waist of time. But Colleen put it to the test over the last year and it came out a winner!! What you need to do is clean your dutch oven with the vinegar and then you can put it away with about a dime size of the Camp Chef conditioner and it will keep without going rancid for about 8 to 9 months!! WOW!! See we can learn some new things!!!

Sausage & Biscuits
The 2nd Class This was one of the best classes that we have had in a while!! We used all 7 of the dutch ovens I had here!! WOW!! Way to Go Colleen!!!
Hot Dogs in a bun Take the Pop and Fresh Rolls of choice and take one roll and wrap it around the hot dog or sausage in a spiral style. Now you can either put them inside you 12" Dutch Oven or grill them on top of the lid.
40 Rolls in a 12" Dutch Oven What you do is take the Pop and Fresh Rolls and put them around the outside of your Dutch Oven like an accordion. In the center we put Sausages in a bun!! If you stack them on the outside you will get 40 if you stack them normal you only get 20.
Filled Loaf of Bread Take the Bread Pan by Camp Chef and put the loaf inside it and let raise. Then when it has doubled in size cut it down the middle about half way down. Fill with what ever you like but we did one can of Chile and a can of Corn. You can fill it with Lemon, Peach, or Blue Berry Pie filling. Then we cooked it in the Camp Chef stove / oven. It got huge!!! When done it was great!!!

2 Burners Plus Oven
Breaded Bread roll out one loaf of bread flat and oblong. Fill the center with Bacon, Cheese, Hamburger, Sausage, Salsa, and Taco Mix (one package). Now, take the end and fold in, slice the side of the bread at an angle, and pull that in over the mix, do the opposite side, keeping doing that till it is breaded and then take the end, fold it in and pull the last breaded and pull over the top of that to hold it down. We put it in a 14" regular Dutch Oven in a horse shoe inside the Dutch Oven.
Muffin Pan Blueberry goodies!!! Take a muffin pan put one roll of dough inside it and flatten it out along the sides. Fill with Blueberry, lemon, peach, or whatever pie filling. Now let it rise for a while. Then you can either cook it in the Camp Chef Stove / Oven or they will fit inside a 10" Dutch Oven to cook. If using the Dutch Oven put 4 coals on the top to raise the bread and them when it has doubled in size put 8 on the bottom and 12 on the top to finish cooking.

Needless to say when we all left we looked like little dough people!! We were Full!!! :0)
The 3rd Class This was a full class in more was than one. OK, we only had 5 dutch ovens going this time and 3 Volcano Stoves!!!
Chicken With Biscuits Chicken Noodle Soup with Biscuits
Dutch Oven Stuffing or Dressing
We also did Joe's Lasagna from the Log Cabin Dutch Oven Cookbook (gray cover) on page 19
Colleen had some great Sausage from Still water Packing Co. in Columbus Montana or Montana Keyser Creek for the web site http://www.montanakeysercreek.net and here is the Phone: (406) 322-9073 Everyone in the class had two samples and I ate about 15!!! Yes, it was too good to share!!! LOL :0)
We also talked about Vinegar a little. If you have feet problems us 5 gallons total 2.5 gallons of water and then 2.5 gallons of Vinegar and soak your feet for 15 minutes. You can use it for tired, sore, or stinky feet. Hot or Cold does not matter. You can save it and use it again too!!!
See you Next Class!!!
The 4th Class
This Class was way toooooo much fun. We had
3 Volcano's going...and would have had the Camp Chef 2-burner Stove going but we ran out of fuel!!! Bummer!!!
We had bread dough and croissant dough. You put a filling of what ever you want in them. In the croissant we put pie fillings. In the bread dough we put fillings for pizza, or cheeses, or whatever you wanted to add to it. Them we put them in the bottom of a well oiled 12" regular dutch oven. Just put the lid on and let them cook until done. We had huge marsh mellows so we made some so mores!! Yum!! Yum!! Or we roasted marsh mellows. We made the new recipe of Tortillas & Sausage Lasagna We also did rolls since we had left over bread dough.
It was a nice and relaxing evening of good food!!!
See you Next Year!!!
